Philly Cheese Steak Pizza | Homemade Pizza Crust

I take a homemade pizza with homemade steak! I load up my homemade pizza crust with a quick white garlic sauce, lots of chopped peppers, onions and mushrooms. So why order Friday night when you can do it at home?

Philly Cheese Steak Pizza

This is critical. Pizza to finish all the pizzas. This cheese pizza has so many flavors all loaded on my pizza crust. Beefy and cheese but also has something for my veggie lovers - onions, peppers, mushrooms. It will satisfy the whole family all at once.

I don’t know how necessary it is to convince when we talk about canceling at your local pizza boy and instead make this delicious pie as home. But really, let’s just take a minute and the visible whiff of this melted, hot, garlicky steak pizza. O chyeah, you completely forgot to talk about the best part about all this! White sauce made with garlic.

In this house we have a great praise for all the garlic stuff.

Next we need a garlic sauce. It starts out like just any other white sauce. We start by mixing butter and a little flour in a small pan when the room smells like cooked pie dough, we spread it in milk. Remember, always use COLD MILK when making white sauce, you will never get lumps that way. While the milk is hot, we will add in 1-3 cloves of crushed garlic. And when the sauce reaches a state, it will add to the final touch. A little salt, pepper, a little nutmeg, and ¼ a cup of grated parmesan cheese.

And the flesh of the flesh. Leftover cooked beef, skirt or flank steaks are all perfect for this recipe. You will need a total of 6 ounces of cooked steak for 1 pizza. I keep the spice easy on the steak since our white sauce is full of garlicky flavors.

For vegetables, I loaded a lot of onions, green peppers, and sliced mushrooms. We have a divided family when it comes to the best kind of pizza. I jump hard with vegetables and hubby is all about meat. But I am sure this is not surprising because this can happen in many homes. You can remove onions, mushrooms, and peppers a little before adding them to the meat pizza or just add them raw. I find that mushrooms tend to get less water when they taste green and I always give them a quick sauté. Also, you can add the caramelize onions completely if you want more of a more delicious flavor. You really can't go wrong with this, use vegetables as much as you like.

And friends, there is no such thing as too much cheese in your pizza. We like roasted mozzarella but provolone, or a combination of Italian cheese can be delicious. Use whatever you like!

And there you have it! Golden crust, soft cheese, sweet onions, and steak are all loaded on this Philly cheese steak pizza.

Onion is a sweet onion, slightly sliced

Spot the rack in the focal point of the stove and warmth the broiler to 475ºF. Carry out the batter into a 12-inch circle. Make a lip or edge by fixing the batter around the piece of the hull. This keeps the sauce set up as opposed to running on the sides. Allow the mixture to rest for 15-20 minutes while you set up the sauce.

Add the spread to a little skillet over medium warmth. Add the flour and permit to cook briefly or until it smells like prepared mixture. Sprinkle gently on cool milk while whipping. Add the squeezed garlic and permit the sauce to stew somewhat. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Eliminate the sauce from the oven; prepare the parmesan cheddar. Permit the sauce to cool for 5-10 minutes, you can set up your vegetables right away.

Vegetables can be used raw in pizza if you like. I like to heat the skillet with a tablespoon of oil and cook each onion, pepper, and mushrooms for a few minutes separately. You will use three teaspoons of oil to do this. Sometimes I let the onions go down and down a little bit to make them more palatable, but this can be a perfect choice.

Top with dough and sauce, cooked steak, vegetables, and sliced cheese. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until crust is lightly browned and the cheese is crisp and golden. At the last minute of baking, you can turn it on the broiler setting jus to get everything in bubbly if you like. Cut the pizza and serve!
