Let's get started today we learn how to make this pizza sauce simple easy to do if I can do it you can
do it. it's really simple we're just gonna do everything in a blender if you have a really large food processor you could do that as well or if you don't have a blender of any means and you might have a hand blender now you can do it
All in a large bowl so we have our blender here we're gonna start with one 28-ounce or it's about 800 grams of crushed tomatoes in puree or a mess sauce go ahead and add that next thing we have our whole peeled tomatoes in a sauce or in a juice
This is referencing a San Marzano style also there's a San Marzano brand of whole peeled tomatoes that you can buy at the store, they're really expensive they're imported that canned tomato is imported from Italy or if you grow your own tomatoes or if you can buy whole fresh sweet tomatoes you can peel them and use those I can't find those herein

now we're not just gonna dump this all tomatoes I'm going to squeeze the juice out of it in there and then as we're squeezing it's gonna allow it to break apart as well you definitely need to do this if you are using just a bowl with like a hand-cranked blender this is probably not as necessary with a food processor or with this blender so it just helps to break it up a little bit more to you
And then when you're done with that just go ahead and put the rest of the juice in there all right great and I'll start adding our spices we have one teaspoon of sugar-white granulated sugar two teaspoons of ground climber john cheese 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon of fennel seeds 1/2 teaspoon of ground oregano and 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasonings and this Italian seasoning you can usually find out in the spice rack at your supermarket it just says Italian seasoning
It's a blend of oregano stage and some other things in there as well put that in there and those are the spices from now if you have fresh basil
I was the store was out of fresh basil and I didn't want to drive to another store. I would take about 6 to 8 fresh basil leaves and then mince those up or dice those up and put those in here as well we'll go ahead put the lid on and we're going to go ahead and start to blend this all together
Now that we have a nice and blended let's head over to the stovetop we are over at our stovetop and now we want to add four tablespoons of olive oil extra virgin olive oil I'm gonna go ahead and let the oil heat up and we have our oven set to medium heat
After a few minutes, we let our after our oil has heated up go ahead and take our onions this is half of a medium onion which lines up being about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of onions and I minced it up you can mince it up as small as you want or as chunky as you want and if you don't want your pizza sauce to be chunky at all then put your onions in with your other ingredients when you blend them in the blender or run them through your food processor
Then also I have three cloves of garlic here that I minced up put that in there let's just cook these down for a few minutes and we're gonna make sure to come in here and stir our onions and garlic after a few minutes let's grab our sauce from our blender here and add it in with everything all right and now we're gonna stir and get it all mixed together here
We're making quite a bit of sauce which is really nice this makes enough sauce for eight to ten pizzas depending on how much you put on each pizza keep it at medium heat and bring it to a boil and we will stir often also at this point I'm gonna give it a little bit of a taste mmm tastes really good but and needs a bit of salt and I'm gonna add a little bit of garlic powder as well let's add a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of garlic powder and then
Also at this point, if you want more pepper go ahead and add more pepper actually any of those other spices you can just add more or less according to your taste you want to be really careful with the salt you don't want to make your sauce overly salty because a lot of ingredients that go on your toppings
