How To Make Grilled Cheese Sandwich | Recipe For Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich

There's grilled cheese, and there's a great grilled cheese. Here's the right way to make a grilled cheese sandwich.

Hey, everybody.

Today, I'm gonna tell you how to make

the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich,

everything from how to butter that toast to get it perfectly crisp and crunchy to the best combination of cheese in the center.

Make these, and you're gonna be known for your grilled cheese sandwiches, and I'm craving some grilled cheese, so let's get started.

All right,
Let's do this.

To make a great grilled cheese sandwich, you can use just about any kind of sandwich bread, but I love Texas Toast because it's a thick-sliced bread.

Spread half a tablespoon of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread. Now, it may seem like a lot of butter, but do not skimp on it. The butter is what creates that crisp golden exterior that's a hallmark for a grilled cheese sandwich.

Place a skillet over medium-low heat.

And I love using my cast-iron pan for this, but any skillet will work.

And add your toast with the butter side down.

You don't have to wait until your skillet is hot.

I just put it into the pan right away.

Now, add your cheeses.

And our favorite combination of cheese for both flavors and that irresistible cheese pull is one slice of medium cheddar, one slice of Havarti cheese, and one slice of Gouda cheese.

Stack the cheeses on top of each other and place them over one slice of bread.

The total cooking time for a grilled cheese sandwich is about six to seven minutes over lower heat.

Once the toasts are lightly browned on one side, close the sandwich and flip it over.

Continue cooking until the toast is a rich golden brown, flipping once.

Also, you can press down to help the breadstick to the cheese. That was so easy, quick.

I find it's perfect at about seven minutes total on the stovetop to get that beautiful, buttery, crispy edge.

And both sides were perfectly cooked.

I'm gonna cut it in half, so you can see what's inside because that triple layer of cheese and the different kinds of cheeses makes this just a super impressive grilled cheese.

All right,
